NEW: The Third Twin - Chicago Soul

Chi sono i The Third Twin? É la domanda che parecchi si fanno da qualche giorno e che in molti altri si faranno tra qualche tempo. Chi sono questi 2 ragazzi parigini che apparentemente dal nulla autoproducono un album, Homemade ("Fatto a mano" per l'appunto); un video per ogni traccia dell'album (anche se non di grande budget, visto che sono quasi tutti creati con spezzoni presi da altre parti) per un totale di 11 e 5 singoli.
Grandi appassionati dei Daft Punk, The Third Twin stanno facendo parlare di loro da quando qualcuno ha messo su internet la voce che le loro erano le canzoni che la Disney aveva rifiutato per la colonna sonora del film Tron: Legacy: ergo che i The Third Twin in realtà non sono altro che i Daft Punk! E come ogni possibile fake, su internet gira di tutto, a partire dai trailer del film con le loro canzoni...
Essere o non essere? Beh le coincidenze sono tante, dalla loro città natale (Parigi) al poco tempo di successo e uscita dell'album, passando per la data 09/09/1999 scritta nel loro MySpace (data in cui i Daft diventarono robot); o il fatto che come casa discografica abbiano solo scritto "major", nel loro canale YouTube (una major e un album sconosciuto, senza pubblicità?); o che qualcuno ha scritto come casa discografica Crydaroulè (un mix tra Crydamoure, etichetta di Guy-Manuel de Homem Christo, e Roulè, etichetta di Thomas Bangalter); o che nelle foto non si vedano i volti; o che la stessa chitarra sia stata campionata da loro in Chicago Soul e anche dai DP appena qualche tempo prima in Outlands (e mentre quest'ultima si trova su internet da soli 10 giorni, non prima, Chicago Soul è su youtube dal 27 ottobre: 21 giorni). Ma a tutto questo si potrebbe obiettare giustamente che sono solo grandi fan dei DP e che tutto ciò è solo un'abile mossa di marketing...e in effetti se andiamo a sentire, lo stile non è molto consono al francese, non è un'electro "pura" sembra più un'evoluzione-retrò, una contaminazione (come il groove dei Scuola Furano) ed è molto molto differente dai suoni duri e cupi di Tron. Inoltre fanno un grande uso di sampler, forse troppo; si dice abbiano usato solo samplers.
In ogni caso, aspettiamo e ascoltiamo.


Who are The Third Twin? This is the question that many people made themselves since few days and that munch more will make in future. Who are these two young Parisians who launch an album, Homemade ("Homemade" in fact), one video for every track on the album (though if are almost all made with footage taken from other parts) for a total of 11 and 5 singles.Big fans of Daft Punk, The Third Twin are becoming popular since someone put it on the internet the rumor that their songs were the songs that Disney had refused for the soundtrack of the movie Tron: Legacy: then that The Third Twin in reality are nothing more than Daft Punk! And like every possible fake, on the internet you can find all, from the trailer of the movie with their songs ...To be or not to be? Well there are many connections, from their hometown (Paris) until their short time to success of the release of album, without forget the date 09/09/1999 written on their MySpace (day in wich Daft become robots); or the fact that they have written "major" under the voice Label in their YouTube channel (a major label for an unknown album, with no marketing?); or that someone has written label "Crydraroulè" (a mix between Crydamoure, the Guy-Manuel de-Homem Christo, and Roulè, the label of Thomas Bangalter); or that in their photos we can't see their faces; or the same guitar sound in their Chicago Soul and DP's Outlands (and while this song is on internet since only 10 days, not more, Chicago Soul is on youtube since 21 days). But someone might rightly argue that they are only big fan of DP and all this is only a clever marketing move...and in fact if we listen, the style is not very suited to the French, is not a "pure" electro, seems more like an retro-evolution or contamination (such as the groove of the Scuola Furano) and is very much different from the hard and dark sounds of Tron and French guys too.They also make great use of a sampler, perhaps too; someone says that  they used only samplers.
Anyway, let's wait and listen.
